How to reset your host file



To reset you host file, start by opening notepad as an administrator.

1.) To do that search Notepad on the windows search bar. Right click and click Run as Administator



2.) It will ask "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" Click yes



3.) Copy the following text provided below:

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one

# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
#	127.0.0.1       localhost
#	::1             localhost​


4.) Paste the copied txt into the notepad. It should now look like this:

5.) Click File > Save As

set the path as c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc

set the filename as: hosts


6.) You may be prompted to to override existing file click yes/ok

7.) go to the website in question an the new site should come up.
