Installing WordPress on cPanel Account

After you set up a cPanel account in WHM, you will need to install WordPress onto that account. The easiest way to do this is to use Softaculous. Follow these steps to install WordPress:
  1. In the cPanel account, scroll down to "Softaculous Apps Installer" and under, "Scripts" click on, "WordPress".
  2. You'll be brought to a Softaculous page featuring WordPress. Click on the, "Install Now" button towards the right.
  3. Under "Software Setup", for "Choose Installation URL", make sure this is set to "https://" or "https://www.". We usually use the www, but if you are using a Dev URL, we will use the client's business name as a subdomain, without the need for www. For example, if the client's business is, "Roy's Tire Shop", we'll use, "https://roystireshop.pinfiber.com", but try to keep it short.
  4. Under "Site Settings", change "Site Name" to the name of what the site will be. You can also change the "Site Description", but you cannot leave it blank.
  5. Under "Admin Account", "Admin Username" should be, "702Padmin". Generate a password by clicking the key symbol. You will need to copy the username and password into PulseNest under the client's Vault. For "Admin Email", change it to "development@702pros.com".
  6. Under "Select Plugin(s)", check the corresponding plugin/theme set.(Select Basic plugin Set) For example, if the client needs a simple landing page, then select "Simple Landing Page Plugin Set". These plugin/theme sets have been created to make it easier to automatically install the required plugins or themes that we use.
  7. Expand the "Advanced Options" section. Check "Auto Upgrade WordPress Themes".
  8. Scroll down and click on "Install".
After the installation of WordPress, you'll have to go back to WHM and set up an AutoSSL for the account.
