Website Support Guidelines
Whenever, we are tasked to make website changes it is good to follow these guidelines to not only make the process easy for yourself, but easy for the client to see that everything that was asked of was completed.
1.) Backup Up the website whenever possible
- Backup the website files (Usually done through CPanel using Backups Wizard or File Manager compress and download)
- Backup the Database (Usually done through CPanel Backups Wizad or phpMyAdmin export)
2.) Take Screenshot of the website before making any changes, especially if it is for any task concerning design/text changes.
- I recommend using GoFullPage Browser Extension on Google Chrome
- Once your are complete with website changes, take a screenshot of the new changes to offer the client a before and after.
3.) Whenever debug any Error codes Google the Error, most of the time you will find someone else who has delt with that issue and has fixed it before.
